GIVING
And when you give to others, see to it that you do not seek recognition for your deeds by performing them openly where they will be noticed by men. For if you do, your heavenly father will not recognize your deeds, only your motive. Therefore do not sound a trumpet before you, seeking the glory of men as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the street corners, for I assure you that they already have what they are seeking. Rather, when you give, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your good deed may be done in secret. For your heavenly father knows and sees all, and he will reward you openly, for all the good which you have done in secret.
